Olympus has announced two additions to its Micro Four Thirds 'Pro' lens series, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm F2.8 and 8mm F1.8 Fisheye Pro (14-28mm and 16mm equivalent focal lengths, respectively). Covering the same ranges as Olympus' 7-14mm F4 (http://www.dpreview.com/products/olympus/lenses/oly_7-14_4) and 8mm F3.5 (http://www.dpreview.com/products/olympus/lenses/oly_8_3p5_fe) Four Thirds lenses from the mid-2000s, these new lenses offer faster maximum apertures. The 7-14mm F2.8 features weather sealing to protect the lens from moisture and dust and matches the existing Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm (http://www.dpreview.com/products/panasonic/lenses/panasonic_7-14_4) for coverage, but at F2.8 it's a full stop brighter than its F4 maximum aperture.
Like the 7-14mm, the 8mm F1.8 Fisheye is sealed against the elements. It offers a 180-degree angle of view and a minimum working distance of 2.5cm for close focus. Also introduced for it is the PPO-EP02 glass dome lens port, compatible with underwater housings for the Olympus OM-D E-M5 or OM-D E-M1.
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm F2.8 Pro will be available in June for $1,299.99 USD / $1,599.99 CAD; the M.Zuiko Digital ED 8mm F1.8 Fisheye Pro will cost $999.99 USD / $1,249.99 CAD, also arriving in June. We'll update this story with European pricing when we have it.
